IMAGINE (Marburg - GUC Innovation and Entrepreneurs) is a project at the German University of Cairo (GUC) in cooperation with Philipps University Marburg to promote entrepreneurial spirit and management skills. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides basic funding for the program period 2014-2020. The IMAGINE project intensively supports motivated students from various departments of the GUC within a competitive annual cycle from idea generation to start-up financing. Both communication techniques and specific methodological knowledge are imparted. Major goals of this program are the practical implementation, the investors' conviction of a sustainable business model and the final launch of the concept. Academic institutions work together with business partners (Siemens, Mercedes Benz, Tamkeen Capital, etc.) and student initiatives. The aim is to accompany the entire workflow of an entrepreneurial journey from the student's existence with a daring business idea to the start-up project, which attracts investors. In order to make this possible, the participating students receive the basic support they need to develop complete business models step by step. The qualification measures take place within an annual cycle, which includes creativity workshops, idea competitions, business model workshops, IP lectures, mentoring, coaching, pitch events and investment fairs.
